In March 2004 Metal Technologies, Inc. (MTI) announced that is had formed a joint venture with international automotive supplier ZF Sachs A.G.. MTI acquired an interest in Sachs Giesserei GmbH (SGG), an iron and aluminum foundry in Kitzingen, Germany. This foundry was established in 1922 and primarily serves the automotive and industrial markets in Europe. In July 2005, Metal Technologies Inc. acquired 100% interest of SGG. The facility operates under the name Metal Technologies Sachs Giesserei GmbH.
“This important step fits with our strategy to become a global supplier to our customers wherever they need metal castings,” said Rick James, MTI’s Chairman and CEO. “It also adds the capability of aluminum castings to our product line, which is the fastest growing part of our industry,” James continued.
